Bo’s Place is a longtime member of the National Alliance for Children’s Grief (NACG). This year, Bo’s Place sent seven staff members to the 29th National Symposium on Children’s Grief, held June 15–17 in San Antonio, TX. The NACG Symposium draws over 500 children’s grief support professionals and volunteers nationally and internationally each year. The symposium offers workshops and poster presentations on topics important to children’s grief, program development, non-profit administration, activities, fundraising, grief support models, and more.
Bo’s Place staff presented two workshops: Marian Mankin, Program Director, and Courtney Reynolds, Volunteer Manager, presented a workshop titled “After the Storm: Lessons Learned from Providing Bereavement Support After National Disasters.” Courtney Reynolds, Volunteer Manager, and Donna Olson-Salas, Group Manager, presented a workshop titled “Culturally Sensitive Considerations for Bilingual Programming.”
We are already looking forward to NACG’s 30th Symposium next year in Baltimore, MD.
