Each year at the Hearts of Hope event, Bo’s Place honors an individual, family, or organization who has made a marked difference in the lives of children in our community with the Robin Bush Award.
This year, we are proud to announce that Debbie and Mark Gregg will receive the award.
For more than three decades, Deb has devoted her career to children and families facing life’s hardest moments: illness, disability, foster care, and loss. Her work at Shriners Hospital for Children, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and DePelchin Children’s Center, along with her service on the boards of Amistad Mission and Trees for Houston, has touched the lives of children and families across Houston. Her longest thread runs through Bo’s Place, where she began as an intern, went on to serve as board president, and still facilitates grief support groups today.
Mark has spent two decades helping to level the playing field by expanding access to high-quality education for low-income, first-generation college-going students. He served eleven years on the board of YES Prep Public Schools, five of them as chair, and has given countless hours of mentoring, advocacy, and fundraising support to school and nonprofit leaders across the city and state.
Together, Deb and Mark embody the spirit of this award.
