An uplifting night, with shared stories of grief, hope, and healing, provided the setting on Thursday, January 30th for the Bo’s Place Hearts of Hope Dinner at The Post Oak Hotel. Event Co-Chairs Mary and Gene Alford and Megan and Luke Hotze led the event and were thrilled that more than $900,000 was raised.
600 supporters of Bo’s Place were on hand to hear stories of love and grief shared by Mary Alford, by Lindy and Larry Neuhaus, parents of Bo, and by the Robertson Family who attended Bo’s Place after the death of their husband and father, Brian Robertson. The presentation of the Robin Bush Award was made to Honorees Sue Smith and Craig Brown. They shared their story of the grief that each had experienced, and their devotion to honor those memories through their shared commitment to others and to their community. Sue Smith recently stepped down from the Bo’s Place board after 17 years of service.
Executive Director Jennifer Boubel said, “Bo’s Place programs mean so much to children, families, and adults who have experienced the death of a significant person in their lives. This is why we are striving to deliver Bo’s Place support services wherever they are needed, throughout our community.”
