In the aftermath of the tragic Kerr County flooding, Bo’s Place stepped forward to support grieving families and communities with the care, compassion, and expertise we are known for.
Together with the Nick Finnegan Counseling Center, we hosted a community event offering guidance, resources, and a safe place to begin processing the deep loss. The gathering was well attended and helped many find the next step on their personal grief journey.
Throughout July, Bo’s Place continued its outreach by creating “Safe Spaces” for those who lost loved ones in the floods. These smaller, intimate gatherings reflect the heart of our year-round support group model—offering those affected a place to be heard and held in community.
Recognizing that the impact of grief reaches far beyond the initial loss, Bo’s Place has also been working closely with schools across Houston. This August, we will train hundreds of school professionals on how to recognize and respond to grief in students—and care for themselves in the process. “Our community is grieving, and Bo’s Place is showing up,” said Outreach Director Sabrina Espinoza. “This is exactly the kind of work our supporters make possible—and something to be deeply proud of.”
In times of crisis, healing begins with connection. Thank you for standing with Bo’s Place as we walk alongside those facing unimaginable loss.
